Lauren Smith
< < Lauren is an illustration student from Gloucestershire, with a background in fine art and realism portraiture, who has since expanded her skillset to illustration and printmaking. Storytelling is at the heart of Lauren's work; her current influences range from fairy tales to mythology to gothic fiction. As part of her final project Lauren has handmade and screen printed a 17th century bodice to explore how narrative can be conveyed through print.
Peter Elliott
> > Pete is an illustrator and 3D artist. He is currently developing the board game Pandemonium, a 4 player arena fighting game. Pete’s work is generally madcap and zany, with hints of satire and gonzo.
Tegan Cooke
< < Tegan is an illustrator from Gloucestershire who has a passion for character design. Tegan’s final project is a series of paper dolls, with a focus on fashion throughout history and a subversion of the societal expectations of that time through the incorporated modern elements of haute couture.
Sophie Frampton
> > Sophie is an illustrator who loves the cute and the colourful. Her final project is a wordless graphic-novel style book following the journey of a homebound ghost.
Gee Mullins
< < Gee is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the world of food and its culture. She employs various mediums and a vivid colour palette to create artwork using a playful approach.
Mason Wilson
> > Mason is an illustrator/comic artist focused on character driven storytelling. He has currently been working on a graphic novel pitch and wants to continue this alongside short form horror comics.
Charlotte Davis
< < Charlotte Davis is a 2D illustrator who loves creating and telling stories. Currently, she is working on her own children’s picture book revolving around her interest in witches and fantasy. Her main media is dip-pen and ink, however she has begun experimenting with digital art as well.
Danni Militaru
> > Danni is a digital illustrator from Romania with a love for eclectic and grungy world building. His project is a concept art book for a future action/horror comic featuring myths surrounding Persephone, Hades and the Underworld.
Ellie Russell
< < Ellie is a multidisciplinary illustrator who finds inspiration in nature and aims to express her perception of it through various mediums such as lino, digital and print.
Sylvia Miko
> > Sylvia is an artist and children’s illustrator. She loves creating by playing. Sylvia experiments a lot with connecting different media. Currently, she is fascinated working with watercolours, crayons and posca pens. She creates her illustrations with bright colours and textures. For her final project, she made a children's book where they can find comfort in tough times as well as answers to hard-to-talk topics like cancer and disability. Recently, Sylvia discovered her passion for creating patterns which opened her practice to new opportunities.
Kira Duff
< < Kira is an Illustrator from the Forest Of Dean who takes joy in producing portraits and all things realism. However, experimenting with other medias, Kira’s final project is an attempt to create a nostalgic connection, through the portrayal of her own family life, using screen print.
Non O’Brien
> > Non is an illustrator based in Gloucestershire who loves to work in mixed media. Creating patterns and landscape designs inspired by the Cotswolds. Non works both in digital and traditional methods, sometimes going hand in hand.
Lucy Ball
<< Lucy likes to illustrate strange and silly made-up characters and environments inspired by all kinds of stuff she finds in the world around her, especially music, fashion and the ocean. From this, she decided to focus on concept art for a hypothetical futuristic/fantasy RPG-style video game, creating a detailed world, including all of its unusual little inhabitants. She plans to continue this project after university, taking her world-building even further.
Kianna Massey
> > Kianna is an illustrator and printmaker who has been creating a children’s book on domestic violence titled They Call It Dad. Each finished page is made up of watercolour, coloured pencils and rolled ink.
Sandra Lewandowska
< < Sandra is an illustrator from Poland who loves to create her own stories and illustrating them. Her project is inspired by a Polish legend about a brutal dragon terrorising a kingdom and a hero who debates whenever to kill the beast or let it live.
Ollie Matthews
> > Ollie Matthews is an illustrator from Gloucestershire who loves character design above all but isn’t afraid to tackle any form of illustration there is. His final project is a series of surrealist pieces in an airbrush style attempting to illustrate the absurdity of internet celebrity culture.
Emily Dean
< < Emily, also known as Deanie, is an illustrator from Buckinghamshire who specialises in digital art. She has a passion for character design and concept art, and is also currently producing a strip comic about her family cat Pixie.
Emma Williams
> > Emma writes and illustrates picture books.
Karla Hoggarth
< < Karla is an illustrator who enjoys creating characters and has found her inspiration from games and film. For her final project, she designed a concept artbook for a game with a fantasy theme. She plans to carry on working on this magical world and its characters after university and bring more of her ideas to life.
Lauren Gillatt
> > Lauren is a digital illustrator from Bristol who enjoys character concept and creation. Her final project focuses on building a world far into the future with sci-fi dystopian themes featuring an eclectic cast of characters.
Leon Dale
< < Leon is an illustrator from the West Midlands & living differently with autism, he has been able to have conversations and talk via illustration that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Working within different creative materials, he mostly defaults to mixing traditional and digital skills together to create his works. He is exhibiting later this year for the first time in Bristol.
Lily Pethersmith
> > Lily is an illustrator from Bristol, she uses a combination of traditional and digital art in her artworks. Focusing on designing captivating and vibrant characters, her ‘Final Major Project’ involves personifying mental illness while also being informative on the specific illness.
Luna Roberts
< < Luna is an illustrator who mainly creates bold and colourful digital artwork, but also designs detailed fine liner patterns. Her current project is a Witch’s Herbal pamphlet which explores plants, astrology, the elements, and more.
Olivia Bridger
> > Olivia is an illustrator who loves telling stories through illustrated books and character designs. Her final project is a retelling of a Native American legend as a children’s picture book. She does her art both digitally and in watercolour but occasionally does art in acrylic or biro pen.
James Penny
<< James Penny is a young Gloucestershire man who enjoys the countryside, its crafts and folklore which is eclectic and evolving. His project reflects his interest in folklore and narrative.
Katie White
>> Katie is a 2D Illustrator/Animator situated in England, whose love for storytelling, character creation and an /obsessive/ desire to draw felines have resulted in a development showreel for her degree show. Go look for a chance to see current and future projects that she hopes to continue after university!
Clare Chamberlain
Clare often works using oil paints and mixed media methods to create scenes focused on everyday life. By recreating and reinterpreting old childhood photographs, her recent work focused on childhood nostalgia and birthday parties. She aimed to capture a whimsical and childlike approach to art through both abstract and realism methods.
